My AI Usage

I have just relaunched this blog; it is now hosted at home. When going through the re-setup on Ghost (I considered something else briefly), I was reminded of my previous use of Dale AI images. I added them following two assumptions: that it's better to have an illustration than not, and AI is cool.

Over the last year in particular, with the cramming of AI into any orifice available, I've become entirely sick of it. You don't need me to go into detail about the environmental impact, the ridiculous economic risks or the fact it's a bit shit. So this is negating the second assumption.

As for the first assumption I made before, I think I will test it by adding stock images to longer posts and leaving ones like this (barely the length of a toot) without any at all.

Outside of this blog, I do dabble with LLMs, mainly for assistance scripting and pulling significant information out of long error logs. This use is pretty infrequent, due to the above listed un-cool reasons.
